"Screwless?" - Cedar Deck Build

This custom cedar deck was designed to follow the prow detail of the cottage, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. A double picture frame border wraps around the entire perimeter, while a unique herringbone detail at the corners replaces traditional miters, adding a refined touch.

To ensure privacy without sacrificing style, seven HIDEAWAY privacy panels were installed, blocking views from neighboring properties. Integrated downlights on the screen posts provide soft accent lighting, while 1" stair riser lights help guide the way at night.

For an unobstructed lake view, glass railings were chosen, with the stair glass notched around the treads, creating an eye catching detail. Below the deck, cedar skirting conceals the framing, while grain-matched double access doors allow for easy storage of paddleboards, canoes, etc...

A second deck was also built at this time, featuring similar design elements to ensure a cohesive look. Photos of the front deck are grouped at the end of the gallery.
